By David Cardani and Dick Traum
The Courage to Go Forward is, in reality, two books with one message. The first uses fascinating profiles of average people overcoming challenges related to disabilities, while the second describes the strength of micro-communities. David Cordani and Dick Traum shows that people with disabilities who come together in micro-communities are able to complete in extreme athletic challenges, such as triathlons, during their journey of recovery. The authors give first-hand accounts of the ways these small, tight-knit communities support and push people to do better, and suggest that they should also be built to help conquer other multifaceted issues, such as the opiod crisis.
