Strategic Directions of the Disability Council of NSW

The Disability Council of New South Wales published a series of draft papers in 2005 that outline their goals over the following 3 years. Among them is a Position Statement on Belonging In the Community. In that paper they declare that:

Belonging in the community is about recognising, facilitating and supporting people with disabilities to:

· Live in their chosen home environment

· Work in their chosen vocation

· Recreate in their chosen ways

· Vote for their chosen lifestyle

· Have friends and relationships with a range of people

· Enjoy equal Access to education and health

· Contribute to the common good of their community

Sounds pretty good, now the question is how to do it? If anyone knows, please let me know how the Disability Council of NSW is doing in achieving these goals.
