App: Be My Eyes

This made-in-Europe app has 2,834,384 sighted volunteers who have agreed to lend their eyes to solve tasks big and small to help blind and low-vision people lead more independent lives. When visual assistance is required volunteers can be summoned by a live video call to guide, advise and simply lend a hand. It’s really quite simple. Once the volunteer and the user connect, the volunteer guides which direction to point the user’s phone camera, then helps with carrying out a desired task.
