About Abilities Magazine
Abilities Magazine is Canada’s lifestyle magazine for people with disabilities, reaching a national readership of more than 60,000. Published quarterly, Abilities shares stories, perspectives, and practical information that reflect the real lives, challenges, and successes of Canadians living with disabilities.
Serving a cross-disability audience from youth to seniors and from province to province, Abilities explores topics such as accessibility, health, employment, technology, caregiving, policy, and culture. Our editorial approach is rooted in lived experience and informed insight, with content that encourages inclusion, accommodation, and a deeper understanding of disability in everyday life.
In addition to the magazine, Abilities has published numerous books and directories related to disability, further supporting education, awareness, and access to reliable information across Canada.
Abilities Magazine is published by BCS Communications Ltd. for the Canadian Abilities Foundation, ensuring that every issue aligns with a broader commitment to accessibility, representation, and community impact.
Publisher
The Canadian Abilities Foundation envisions an inclusive, universally accessible society where all people are valued and supported. Founded in 1986, CAF is a registered Canadian charity dedicated to advancing accessibility, reducing stigma, and creating meaningful opportunities for people living with disabilities, their families, and caregivers.
Through advocacy, education, and well-run national programs, CAF works to remove barriers, elevate lived experience, and foster greater understanding across communities. Our work supports youth, adults, and seniors navigating physical disabilities, mental health challenges, and the effects of aging, while championing inclusion as a shared responsibility.
