To the organizers of Toronto’s Gay Pride Week who remain true to their philosophy of diversity, by ensuring that everyone can take part in this annual event. Pride Week’s Equal Access Committee has worked hard to make the week-long celebrations barrier-free. Access information was available at information booths and volunteers were on hand. During the Sunday parade, when thousands of spectators jammed the sidewalks, people using wheelchairs and their companions were ensured an unobstructed view from reserved places in the Equal Access Viewing Area. A number of people with visible disabilities also took part in the parade which has become one of Toronto’s biggest celebrations.
