Work environment
Parks Canada is a federal government agency responsible for the protection and presentation of Canada’s outstanding natural and cultural resources through a system of national parks, national marine conservation areas and national historic sites in all regions of Canada.

Intent of the process
A qualifying list will be established, and may be used to fill similar positions of various tenures (indeterminate, seasonal, temporary, full-time, part-time) and various locations within the Coastal BC Field Unit.

Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
*Proof of education & certifications will be required at time of interview.
Degree equivalency

• Experience in providing administrative support services in an office environment including but not limited to maintaining, creating and managing files, records and correspondence
• Experience in the coordination of various administrative services to management including but not limited to coordination of document approvals, coordination of meetings, minute taking and managing schedules and travel.
• Experience in interacting with internal OR external stakeholders
• Experience in financial accountability, coordinating travel and processing travel claims, accounts payable invoices etc.

• Knowledge of various software, i.e. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel & Microsoft PowerPoint;
• Knowledge of general processes and procedures relative to travel, hospitality, and contracts;
• Knowledge of general office procedures and practices, including effective correspondence management

• Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines and to adjust priorities;
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
• Ability to develop and maintain systems to track correspondence and facilitate retrieval of information;
