Personal Conferencing

It’s Time to Share
What is personal conferencing and what does it mean to you? The industry defines it as "working together, across any distance, using the personal computer to share information simultaneously using personal computer (PC) applications, audio and visual."

In short, personal conferencing or, as it’s sometimes called, desktop video conferencing, brings together the full capabilities of the personal computer, the telephone and the personal skills, talents and contributions of the participants... in real-time and in living colour.

Beyond saving travel time and money, personal conferencing promises many benefits including improved time to market for projects and products, faster decision-making and higher-quality decisions. Industry pundits predict that by the year 2000, virtually all personal computers will be equipped for conferencing.

Intel’s ProShare family of products is immersed in the personal conferencing revolution. ProShare lets personal computer users share documents with their colleagues in other locations and enjoy face-to-face video contact -- without leaving their offices. ProShare is used throughout North America for dispersed working, collaborative computing and video communications in such wide-ranging fields as legal and professional firms, health care, companies with large remote sales forces, government, hospitality, distance education, manufacturing, and publishing and broadcasting.
