So here we are...Spring 2009 in an uncertain world...but, when one thinks about it, this planet has always been a rather uncertain place to hang out. For all of its horror stories, there are still lots of good things happening. Sprinkled throughout this issue, for example, you'll find references to the 2010 Paralympics - frequent tributes to the indomitable human spirit, and Canada's best athletes competing on the world stage.
We've also got an article by Joanne Smith, former host of CBC's Moving On, now educating others about the power of nutrition. To read her article use the link provided http://www.abilities.ca/health_activity/2009/05/05/eat_well_stay_well/
You'll also find advice from Joanne and other treasures on our new website, www.abilities.ca. Join the conversation; it takes just minutes to sign up! If you're in the job market, look at the many employment ads in this issue, or visit our new job website, http://jobs.abilities.ca for great opportunities.
People in Motion, Canada's largest trade show and exhibition for people with disabilities, is coming up in Toronto on June 5-6. And check out the CAF Forum to see what's new with some of Canada's most important disability organizations. It has become one of the most well-referenced sections of Abilities magazine and our website.
