Here's a letter from one of the game design teams:
I was attracted to the Big Games Competition since I am concerned about a lot of youth today being isolated from the outside (and real) world. I have a 15 year-old son who has an obsession with video games and the Internet which contrivbute to him not being interested in much else and that limits his time doing activities outside the house, both social and physical.I am also concerned about those people in society who are isolated not by choice but by circumstance, e.g. the elderly and those with physical and mental disabilities. Hopefully the competition can provide some sort of solution for these people as well.
