Children's Book on Belonging: Little Quack's New Friend

By Brian Smith

I've a come across a website that provides several resources to encourage children to consider and foster belonging. I'll post these in a series over the next while. Little Quack's the first:

Little Quack's New Friend is a new book by Lauren Thompson and illustrated by Derek Anderson.

Little Quack and his four brothers and sisters love to play together, but when a green frog wants to play with them, all but Little Quack say "No". One by one the little green frog wins them over by being himself. It is a fun story about having fun with a new friend and acceptance of differences. Great illustrations too!

The kindergarteners at Ambrose School loved it.
