A Gathering On Belonging at the Institute for Canadian Citizenship

By Brian Smith

Earlier this week The Belonging Initiative and the Institute for Canadian Citizenship co-hosted a conversation on belonging.

Here are few audio clips that you might be interested in listening to:

Nathan Gilbert, Executive Director of the Laidlaw Foundation introducing the early beginnings of the Belonging Initiative [2 minutes].

Al Etmanski, President of PLAN, declaring the purposes of this particular gathering [3 minutes].

Al speaking to the challenges that the Belonging Initiative are addressing [5 minutes].

John Ralston Saul sharing his perspectives on addressing these challenges [31 minutes].

The rest of the conversation was recorded, but permission was not expressly sought to publish those recordings to the internet. If you participated in this conversation and would like to hear the recordings please feel free to make contact with me at bsmith@plan.ca.
